  2. (non classic experience but similar there too)
It's a very frustrating especially for one doc with multiple signatures to keep resetting the date to MM/DD/YYYY. it always defaults to DD/MM/YYYY. Is there some way to just set in preferences so it's a global change?

  3. Refer to the PDF review error message they are receiving (attached). I've never heard of this, but several of my developers (Chrome, IE, Edge, on Windows, Mac, or Linux flavors) all have the same problem. about 1/3 of people have no trouble, others get this error. Help!

  4. Drawboard PDF's single page view allows one to swipe through pages (like "flipping" pages in a book). I find this helps with retention as it breaks apart the text, delineated by page breaks. I've tried your single page vertical scrolling view, but I found it to be clunky. A few things that would probably make this better (for the horizontal swipe as well):

    1. Don't have the page "glued" to the screen, but put it on a rubber band -- so, as someone "drags" the page, you can see it react/ shift from the center/ default position. If the user just…

  5. The admin email on the password/pin screen is by default associated with AdobeSign account and cannot be changed. This admin email address should be configurable to be set to a customer support email address. It is not helpful that we cannot change this email address.

This is on the page "This document is password protected: You will need a password to access this document. If you do not have the password, you will need to contact <Name of admin><link to associated email>."

Thank you for reporting the issue. We regret you facing inconvenience.

Seems the PDF documents have restrictions w.r.t page extractions and signing operations. Please check Document Properties (CTRL+D or CMD+D) > Security and see if any document security is applied.
If you are not the author of the PDF, you will need to contact him/her to.

Please share the version of acrobat you are using. You can do so using the link -helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/identify-product..

And also share the test PDF file using forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-7161 for us to investigate further if this does not resolve your issue.

  8. Since I work one copy I like to mark my redactions and when complete I save a copy to apply the redactions and then I remove all the redactions to have a clean copy. I may not want to remove all comments, just the redaction boxes

I do this so if I remove pages I don't have to do so on multiple copies and try to keep track of where I am.

  9. In Acrobat 9, it was very easy to mark a comment as checked. You simply right-clicked on it and chose "Mark with Checkmark." Alternatively, there were also two different places in the Handy Commenting Toolbar to mark the comment as checked.

Sadly, in Acrobat X and going forward, the right-click > Mark as Checked feature was removed, as was the handy Commenting toolbar. So now the only way to mark something as checked is in the giant comment list (which is now by default vertical, as opposed to horizontal.

Instead, Acrobat has moved the only option for commenting over to…

  10. Please implement a feature where I can adjust which markups appear on top of overlapping markups. In other words, the default is the newest markups are on top but I want to have an option to send a new markup backward so an old markup will be on top. I currently have to cut the old markup and paste in order to make this happen, but this should be something we can choose from a right-click menu.

  11. I frequently get the attached error message when selecting Save As PDF in Microsoft Word. It says that the path of the document is too long and to please save to a path with fewer than 255 characters. I believe there is an ancient limit in older versions of Windows that has been eliminated, but this bug still exists in Acrobat.

I am running the latest version of Acrobat under Windows 10 with the latest version of Word from Microsoft 365.

The workaround is to simply print the file to the Adobe PDF printer, but it would be nice to…

  12. Bug Report - unable to add password protection to my pdf files. Everytime I add a password and hit apply, the file is automatically renamed to a random series of letters and numbers, and I get a message box that says "Unable to save this file; cannot save to this file name."

  13. I added form fields (including a signature field) to a PDF, using Acrobat DC. Now, when users try to fill and sign the form using Reader, they get an error message reading, "The operation failed because Adobe Acrobat encountered an unknown error." They are unable to save a signature onto the document.
Not the most helpful of error messages. How can I avoid users getting this error?

  14. Changes to admin role of a user for a particular product should cause a notification to a wider group of administrators.

This is because for product Adobe sign there are two admin roles - Admin and Privacy Admin.
Any admin can raise their permissions to privacy admin (which can read all docs in the account) and there is no wider notification.

This is also not logged in the audit log - so there is no way to track this at all.
Given that adobe sign contains sensitive information (HR is a big user) this is not good from any role …

  15. PLEASE update Adobe Acrobat so it can convert files for AutoCad's current edition (2024). Since AutoCad only "sells" their software by license and they don't license previous versions your user message in Acrobat is simply INFURIATING!

  16. Click Send for Shared Commenting and follow the steps in wizard to add a note and recipients, and so on. When complete, the message appears that the email is created in the email program, but the email is never created. Usually it would appear in the Outbox, and could be sent. Nothing ever appears.

As a workaround, I tried to "send file, attach to email' to send the review enabled pdf. The email opens with the pdf attached, and i sent. First time i got an error that the file could not be found, and the email was not sent.…

  17. We just notcied a strange behavior of Acrobat/Adobe Reader (DC 2019.021.20056) and found the root cause:

There's a generated PDF that uses standard fonts which are referenced through the AcroForm default resources entry, too. Strangely the font has a Name entry in its dictionary:

    3 0 obj
    <</Type/Font/Subtype/Type1/BaseFont/Helvetica/Name/F1/Encoding/WinAnsiEncoding>>
    endobj

We add 2 signature fields with our own tool and certify/sign one field. This results in a valid document, which you can download here (https://customers.setasign.com/adobe/document-with-name-in-font.pdf). Do not wonder, there's really only a single line on the page.

When you open this document in Adobe Acrobat or Reader and sign…

  19. I have used Acrobat Pro for years without a problem. I am using version 9 on a Mac running 10.13.6.

I used CleanMyMac yesterday to clean out some files and after restart Acrobat Pro won't open. The first thing that happens is that I get a message saying that Acrobat Pro wants to make changes and I need to put in my password. I do that and then Pro crashes. If I don't put in my password, I get a second error message that says Authentication Failed. I've attached screenshots of both.

    I assume I deleted something I shouldn't have.…

  20. When exporting to eps (may be other formats too) from a multi-page document, you have to manually go into settings and define the page number (in the format of a range) that you want to export. Ironically, it automatically populates the page # of # based on the page you're already on. If you don't define a page, regardless of what page you're on, it will export the 1st page. Should default to exporting the page you're on in the pdf.
