Can you add a feature that locks fill-in form fields?
I built a fill-in form using a PDF template. Turns out the PDF displayed incorrectly for one of my users, so I created a replacement template PDF. When I switched it out, all my fill-in form fields significantly moved. Would love a feature that would allow the fields to be locked before replacing template. Thank you.
1 voteBarbara,
To avoid accidental changes to the form field, select Locked in the lower-left corner of the Properties dialog box before you close it. To unlock, click the option again.
I hope it work for you .

Acrobat DC - Can't paste content into alt text or document properties fields
After the most recent Acrobat DC update, we suddenly could not paste any text into the alt text field or the title, subject, author, and keyword fields in document properties. The cursor was there, but nothing appeared when we tried to paste. This happened when copying from any application (Word, PowerPoint, even from within the PDF itself). Oddly, we could paste into the body of the PDF, just not the alt text and document property fields. Ultimately we had to uninstall and reinstall, which seemed to fix the problem. But we have no idea what caused this malfunction…

HIghlighting Text
For the highlight function, there should be the ability to change colors easily. Right now the process is cumbersome and time-consuming. When I have to be able to access my highlighted test for citations, it would be wonderful to be able to export to word documents with a click.

"Ask AI Assistant" persistently blocks content on the bottom of the page.
Any time I am foolish enough to move my mouse near the bottom of an Adobe document, a little bar that says "ask AI assistant" comes up. Often, it takes some time to make it go away again.
If I wanted to find an AI assistant, I wouldn't be looking by putting my mouse near the bottom of the page. If you must have such a doodad, put it in the menu structure with everything else so that it isn't in my way.
Also, help information about how to get rid of "features" like this is difficult to…5 votes -
Text select is picking large blocks of multiple lines of text rather than just one line.
When using text select to highlight, multiple lines are being highlighted rather than just the line of text. See SnipPDF.png to see what is occurring. I've tried two different methods of saving the file. Print to PDF and Save as PDF. Save as PDF is working fine, Print to PDF is not letting us select anything. Is this really the only workaround for this, is to open and select print and save again? Our users are having to save some files twice, just to be able to select text. These are files they have created, some they have downloaded,…

New Feature - Adobe Sign | Comment Field for Signer/Approver
Comment field for signer/approver and/or email button attached to document to email comment or questions regarding received document.
In some cases, the signer or approver may have questions about the document prior to signing it. Instead of having to deny the document, the signer/approver should be able to submit a comment when signing or submit a question to the sender prior to signing.

Could you please just STOP CHANGING THINGS?
I had to spend A FULL HOUR OF MY WORK DAY today just trying to figure out how to add text to a PDF. Why? Because the "Add Text" and "Edit Text" features have now changed such that, instead of adding text where you click, they open up a bunch of raster layers which totally destroy the entire document if you try to type in them.
Every time I used the "Add Text" or "Edit Text" it would rearrange all of the text of the form I was trying to fill out in ways that turned…

Creating fillable PDF (Prepare form) - add image compatible with Mac Preview
I am creating a fillable PDF and the users need to be able to add an image. I tried using "Add an Image Field" with Prepare Form, but the users are unable to add the image when they open the PDF in Mac Preview. Most of our clients use Mac Preview to open and fill PDFs we need to make this compatible!

BUG - Add Text Comment icon Copy & Paste creates Cyrillic text characters!
BUG - When using the Add Text Comment icon within the left menu bar, copying and pasting normal English text characters from a previously saved .pdf file creates illegible Cyrillic characters in new .pdf paste destination??!! Previous version of Adobe Acrobat has "PASTE PLAIN TEXT" feature (as all the logical Microsoft Office suite products have). Copying & pasting basic file and accounting information on monthly invoices from the last month to the next month. Please have qualified software developer/engineer reincorporate "PASTE PLAIN TEXT".

Bad UI / bug: floating comments box text hidden with useless whitespace
The old version of Acrobat (Pro X) allowed users to put comments on various items in the document, such as highlighted text, etc. and move those boxes around on the document and change their size.
Now, Acrobat (Pro 2019 and onward) obscures that comment box with a reply field and totally wasted blank space beneath it (see attached). A user shouldn't have to click on a comment box to see the text that's there. This is yet another example of HORRID user interface changes. While reply-type commenting is a useful feature, destroying the original comment box's functionality for those…

"Show border hover color for fields" interferes with custom form element rendering
If you create custom radio button element in Indesign it will be rendered wrongly on acrobat pro (and reader) if
Preferences >
Forms >
"Show border hover color for fields"is turned on.
Once you turn that setting off, acrobat renderes the form element as expected.
Attached indd, pdf and two screenshots to demonstrate the behaviour

Bug: Cannot save data to form fields completed in Acrobat DC, even with "Enable more tools" option turned on.
After completing an editable form with no restrictions and fillable fields in Acrobat DC, the data typed into the fields does not save. The form is blank when the document is saved and then reopened. Even when "Save as Other" --> "Reader Extended PDF" --> "Enable More Tools" is turned on, the data in the fields cannot be saved. This is a frustrating and time-consuming issue since users must complete the form, and if there are any errors, must then complete the entire form over again from scratch. I have now wasted more than two hours…

Sliding Scale
It would be great if users could insert a sliding scale field for range questions (like a 1-10 question) in the same way that we can insert a checkbox or text field when creating a form. I have to create employee appraisal templates and I need to include a slider scale. I have attached an example of a sliding scale.

Fix how commenting or typing text into document works
I type comments onto my student's pdf's of their screenplays. The text often stops
working if I scroll away to double check something on another page forcing me to create a new text box, AND, it will display that same text in random places on other pages. Also, I would like the ability to create my own text box dimensions so that the text wraps and stays confined to the text box instead of just continuing off screen which makes no sense as a feature. In what circumstance could that be helpful?
Please fix the wonky acrobat features to make…
