delete all redactions
Since I work one copy I like to mark my redactions and when complete I save a copy to apply the redactions and then I remove all the redactions to have a clean copy. I may not want to remove all comments, just the redaction boxes
I do this so if I remove pages I don't have to do so on multiple copies and try to keep track of where I am.

New Acrobat Reader Slow Sluggish
The latest 64bit version of Acrobat Reader is very slow on a larger file (13MB, 2800 pages of primarily text).
Specifically version 2023.001.20064 64 bit.
Loading takes at least a minute. Opening the comments panel requires 30sec.Moving by clicking a Bookmark is fast after everything loads. I have plenty of memory, 64GB vs 8GB used.
Testing finds the slowdown occurs after comments have been added. And I mean only 2 comments. Even after the slow load, it requires 18sec to jump between the pages with the comments. In contrast, FoxIt Reader, is functionally instantaneous.
Acrobat Reader is unusable in…

Actually let me disable the "AI" "assistant"
Please for the love of all that is sacred let me fully disable the "AI" "Assistant". It is neither AI, nor an assistant. It is not a useful feature to "generate a summary" of an invoice. It is not able to - in ANY way - generate a meaningful summary of a whitepaper that provides any more value than the author's abstract. And it most certainly cannot make light of a technical standard that I have to understand clause-for-clause in order to implement.
The "disable" option in Preferences does not actually seem to disable it and every 3rd time I…

Merge PDF - Adobe Acrobat Online (web version)
Hello Adobe,
I just noticed that you guys have a pretty nice PDF tool online. I use online PDF tools more than my desktop tools as sometimes I am on architecture like ARM that does not have the features I need. I love the export features of the online acrobat.
Feature Request: Merge PDFs
Reference Website/Competitor: See attached image3 votesHello Dylan,
Thanks for trying Acrobat online tools. We are definitely planning to introduce Merge/Combine PDF tool in the upcoming months.
Please stay tuned.
Thanks,

make it easier to add alt-text to all parts of a pdf
The process for adding alt text is rather onerous, especially for pdfs created from jpegs or other image files. It requires typing in all of the text and doesn't provide for an easy way to separate out sections of a pdf, as in a poster with a varied layout, such as a biographical poster with a photo, titles, subtitles, etc.

USPTO
This is both a bug and feature request (after meeting with an Adobe Support team member):
This is feedback from an Intellectual Property practice group, which requires very specific Adobe specs for filing patent applications at the USPTO.
BUG: when saving JobOptions, our settings tend to get wiped sporadically. We need our JobOptions to stick and have the ability to push them out to everyone in our law firm
FEATURE REQUEST: from Microsoft Word, printing to PDF image directly would be very helpful. The two-step process to save to PDF and then print to image does not work for all…

Acrobat Reader/Pro do not properly support word-by-word selection in macOS
- Open a PDF containing text in Acrobat Reader or Acrobat (18) in macOS (10.12.6) on the Mac (also applies to other versions).
- In order to select a string of words, double-click on the first word and, without releasing the mouse button, drag in the required direction to extend the selection.
Expected Result: Acrobat should select the word you double-clicked on, and THEN extend the selection word by word based on the direction of the dragging.
Observed Result: Acrobat selects the word you double-clicked on, and then fails to extend the selection.
The only way to select a string…

Minimize side bars on open
Side Bars (All Tools & Bookmarks) compress the image when opening.
These need to be minimized on open as there's already icons to expand them.
At minimum there needs to be a user setting to allow individuals to set them to minimized upon open. Not all file openings occur as full screen, so those side bars 'squash' the image.1 vote -
Option to rotate text callouts after inserting from another PDF
When I copy text callouts from one PDF file to another, often times it is rotated the wrong way upon insertion. To fix this, I usually have to make a new comment instead and only copy-paste the actual text. This is very annoying, and there should be a feature that enables you to rotate these comment objects on the page to make them upright again. Or just automatically detect which way is upright upon insertion.

Reading aloud
As a proofreader, I like to use the read-aloud feature. Acrobat's, however, is now unusable. It crashes on my Mac. I cannot read paragraph by paragraph. If I pause to insert a comment, it restarts reading from the top of the page. If there are columns, pullquotes, figures or tables, sometimes it reads across the width of the page instead of vertically. It's just a mess.
I used to be able to use my Mac's built in read-aloud feature, which allows me to select text to read out loud. That no longer works in Acrobat, although it does in…

File remains open behind the scene even when tab closed
This is a recurring problem with Adobe Acrobat Pro DC: When a file is closed in Acrobat (by closing the corresponding tab), the program doesn't not release the file. As a result, the file cannot be renamed or moved until Adobe Acrobat Pro DC is closed. I have attached an image of the error dialog that pops up. This is on Windows.
Of course, this is a major inconvenience because I have many tabs open and closing Adobe merely to be able to rename a file that's no longer supposed to be open in Adobe is not something that…
1 voteThe error here explains that the PDF is opened in Adobe PRO.
This could be because the file is still writing the changes made in the PDF.
Could be that the file is opened from a server location/shared servers. And that the change is waiting to commit.

Replacement Text (AccSupp ActualText entry) Support
We noticed that your PDF viewer doesn't have AccSupp ActualText support. This means that copy-pasting technical text such as shellscripts and programming code, does not work in your PDF viewer and this greatly restrains the use of your whole program.
The replacement text is said to be supported, according to the file "Document management - Portable document format - Part 1: PDF 1.7" both on Table 323, page 559, and on section 14.9.4, page 615. Available here: https://www.adobe.com/content/dam/acom/en/devnet/pdf/PDF32000_2008.pdf.
But according to the tests made using PDFs produced by pdflatex using the package accsupp, the replacement text support seems…

Acrobat steals window focus on file open (during actions as well)
As stated in the title, Acrobat is repeatedly seizing window focus and popping back on top of the other windows when it opens another file.
This even happens when running actions on an entire folder of pdfs.
I have been running a set of action sequences on a folder of about 400 files for the last few days.
My original intention was to start the sequence and then continue to work on other portions of the project while the pdf's were modified and saved.
Instead, acrobat grabs the mouse and keyboard back every time it opens the next file (about…

[Bug] Acrobat DC 2020 | exporting to Word – images with text are blurry (OCR disabled)
Acrobat DC 2020 (20.013.20064)
MacOSX 10.14.16Exporting PDFs in Acrobat DC 2020 to Word (.docx or .doc) embedded raster images with (rastered) text (e.g. maps etc.) are blurry/with low resolution in the resulting Word document. This is especially the case if the export OCR option is clearly disabled. Other raster images (without text) are not affected. Embeeded raster images in the source PDF can be jpg or tif with "high" resolution like 300 or 600dpi and the result is allways the same bad quality for raster images with text (either source format of the embedded …
