  1. Create a function that allows administrators within an organization the ability to lock down the functionality of creating a self-signed Digital ID. In organizations that use digital ID's as a result of PIV cards, the ability to verify signatures on PDF's is critical. Administrators should have the ability to restrict digital signing to PIV certificate authentication and not allow users to create self-signed digital ID's.

  2. Accessibility checkers (such as CommonLook) reject PDFs with visible digital signatures, presumably because they lack an Alt-Text feature like standard images have.

We have new requirements to produce all documents for web postings as being accessible, which means we cannot use digital signatures until they become compliant with accessibility requirements.

Please add Alt-Text capabilities or another means of making digital signatures accessibility-compliant. It would be nice if default Alt-Text could be set as part of the digital signature configuration (e.g., "Signature of John Smith".

    1. Since the last update to Acrobat DC, searching an Embedded Index file using a script fails: No results are ever found. The same search command, using the same Index file, can be performed manually, and once that is done the script works, but not if it is executed on its own.

    2. To reproduce:

    3. Create an Embedded Index (.pfx) file for a file.

    4. Run the following JS code (adjusting the file-path of the Index and the search term, of course):

    var cIdxPath = "/C/Test/MyIndex.pdx";
    search.query("search", "Index", cIdxPath);

This results in 0 results, and the search doesn't seem to…

  4. I make ADA Accessible documents. Inherit Zoom is a necessary thing.

When I need to combine multiple pdf files into one document I often create a narrative that includes links to other pages of that document. I back up those links with bookmarks.

While it's quite easy to change all of the bookmark actions at once to Inherit Zoom, it's not so easy to change the links.

Currently each link action must be edited individually. And each Zoom is set to custom. There is considerable time taken to adjust each one, especially when I have 50 to 200 links in…

    Hi,

We are delighted to share with you that Acrobat and Reader Desktop release for DC Continuous (20.012.20041) is Live now and this takes care of this Feature Request

For more Info refer here : https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/whats-new.html

The Set Default Bookmark Zoom Level menu item is now added to the PDF bookmark options. While creating a new bookmark, you can easily use this option to set the default zoom level. By default, the Inherit Zoom option is selected.

Also, Acrobat now provides an option in the bookmark properties to retain the destination page number when you adjust the zoom level of multiple bookmarks.

Please update your Acrobat (It should Auto update or you should do Help → Check for updates) and let us know your Feedback.

    Thanks
    Ayush Jain

  5. For webforms, please create an option to save a completed webform before it is signed by the user? This would create a copy should anything go wrong when submitting it back to us. We had a student who completed a form, signed it, then entered an incorrect email address and the form was lost and we did not receive it. There was no copy or way to retrieve it.
    Thanks.

    1. How do I share the comparison report view with customers who only have Adobe Reader?

    2. Ability to export side-by-side or two-page comparison report view so that customer can see the same comparison view using only Adobe Reader. To see proposed view, see attached file "Expected result (also available for Adobe Reader users)".

    3. This two-sides comparison view with visible comments is clear and user-friendly. It is important to be able to share our work with our customers, who typically don't have Adobe Acrobat. This may also make Adobe Acrobat more attractive than buying the alternative solution from PDiff (https://www.csci.de/en/pdiff/).

  6. So I had complained on Twitter about what it was like to use Acrobat Pro for production, and the Adobe asked for my feedback. I’ll try to give you some here.

My background is as a motion designer (for over 30 years) so I’m very familiar with photoshop, illustrator, after effects , 3D programs, etc. not really a print guy, but am helping out with a non-profit here in Athens, Ga.

What I’ve been doing is checking (and fixing) ads that come in for this non-profit’s publications. They usually arrive as PDFs, some image-based, some vector, some hybrid. The…

  7. Scenario/Description: I have a large PDF that is 310 pages, so I'd like to print selected pages to a new PDF for smaller files. e.g. print pages 168 - 208. Upon printing selected pages to a new PDF, it opens the created file and the total page count is correct, but the selected page number is wrong as it starts its count from its position in the original file (i.e. so instead of showing page 1 out of 41, it shows page 168 out of 41).

Preconditions: PDF with multiple pages open (310 from scenario above) in Adobe Acrobat Pro.

  8. I work at Petrobras in Brazil and I am responsible to manage the users licenses for de Adobe Products, Acrobat DC Pro and Creative Cloud Apps. Some users request a license but doesn´t use it. I would like to have a report that can check when the user used a product for the last. So that I can revoke the license for lack of access or use. This is very important to reduce costs and manage the licenses. Thank you.

  10. I wanted to use Font Awesome icons in Forms, but is not possible. I choose the Font Awesome in text field properties, but doesn't show when I want to copy an icon from the cheatsheet - the same technique works with every other Adobe program. This is a cheatsheet that I use: http://fontawesome.io/cheatsheet/. The font is installed on my computer.

  11. The attached Output.pdf renders the image differently in AcrobatPro to non-Adobe PDF readers (eg, Safari). There is a faint light grey line, about 13 pixels wide, down the right edge. If you "Browse Internal PDF Structure" you can see the grey pixels as fe rather than ff in the JPEG stream, so it seems as though the PDF JPEG decoder has an off-by-one error.

I've also attached Original.jpg which shows what the image should look like. It doesn't have the grey line, as you can see by loading it into, eg, Photoshop. If you convert it to a PDF using…

  12. I receive this error message when I select File -> Compress PDF.

I currently have Adobe Acrobat Standard DC installed on a computer running Windows 10.

I have used this feature to compress numerous other PDFs made from documents that contain text and images. I'm not sure why this feature has found a problem with the images. It would be nice if the error message also included suggestions on how to fix the problem.

  13. I'm working on a confidential PDF document, locally on my encrypted drive, and accidentally clicked on the "link" icon which immediately began sharing the document to the cloud. There is no cancel button. There is no way to stop it. My only recourse is to wait until the file finished uploading to cloud storage, and then manually delete it. This is a serious privacy violation.

First, uploading a local file to cloud storage should be simple, but not so simple as inadvertenly clicking an unlabled icon in the toolbar.

I know you're seriously pushing people to use your cloud storage,…

  15. OS: Windows 10
    Acrobat Pro DC v2022.002.20191 | 64 bit

    Steps to reproduce:
    - open a PDF form with custom JS for textfield calculations
    - activate form tools
    - select a textfield and open properties / calculation

    - close the dialoge window
    - repeat it with other textfield (open/close)
    - repeat it with the first textfield
    - (optional) repeat it multiple times

observed result: with a ~50% chance the (saved) JS code is gone

  16. When "Enable scrolling" is off, as it is by default, mouse scroll can scroll 10 pages or more in an instant, if the vertical page size is a little larger than the screen. It is unusable for me, so I need to change the setting every time I open a document, since the setting does not persist.

Why not make it so the setting will persist, so I don't need to change it every time I open a document?
