  1. This issue relates to a feature request which I will submit separately. In the meantime, here is what I posted about this problem in the Acrobat Pro "Editing & Exporting PDFs" forum:

As described in a related "PDF Page Size" message thread, I am needing to change the font color of all - or a specified range of - pages within a 200-page PDF file, from dark grey to black. As stated in that separate thread:

In experimenting with changing the font color in a fully-justified three-column text document, in Acrobat Pro XI (Windoze 7 Professional), I am having disappointing …

This is how Acrobat is designed to work and currently we do not have any plans to change it.

  2. Why is it so difficult to select shapes and text boxes? It would be so useful to select multiple text boxes and shapes to copy and paste. It is ridiculous how difficult simple tasks like this is.

  3. 1 of several problems in how PDF Maker (and InDesign's export to PDF utility) tag PDFs.

In Table Editor, the editor's cell markers (bright pink lines) do not align with the actual <TD> data cells. This makes it difficult, and sometimes impossible, to correct a cell's tag.

Most commonly seen in complex tables with merged cells in the column and row headers. See screen capture.

    Also see this blog post:
    https://www.pubcom.com/blog/2020_04-05/ACROBAT_tableeditor.shtml

    EXPECTED RESULT:
Table Editor's cell outlines should match the actual cells.

  4. Our large organization needs layered PDFs to view and filter AutoCAD layers, since we will no longer be able to make native AutoCAD files available in an AutoCAD viewer.

Layered PDFs seem to have the limitation of not being able to save the option of 'List Layers for Visible Pages'.

In our case, users need to be able to rely on a clean set of layers used for each page, not the confusing list of all layers in the document. We have many multi-paged PDFs that we planned to use to view and filter layers, and the accumulation of layers…

  5. The joined file is a simple image JPEG which has been converted into PostScript with 'jpeg2ps'. The resulting PostScript file is only a wrapper around the JPEG file which is coded in ASCII85 inside. Acrobat Distiller 20.0 (Windows) converts into a blank file. However, it was correctly converted in Acrobat Distiller X and XI. It's also converted correctly by GhostScript. Remark: I have renamed the file image.txt because it was impossible to load a file with the extension ps. However, when changing the extension to ps, it's my file.

  6. Dear Adobe... for over 20 years I have used Adobe products and with one or two tiny exceptions in the early years, and absolutely loved them all. Photoshop, Design, Creative Suite, Premier Pro you name it I've probably bought it and in many cases bought literally dozens of copies for numerous functions and colleagues too many to mention (see my old Adobe account). One of these which I have used almost daily for years was Adobe Acrobat Pro. I still have 11.0.23 running on an old laptop and it runs like a dream. Full of features and stable as mile…

  8. When converting a PDF to a PowerPoint file, Acrobat automatically attempts to convert individual slide elements such as text into editable content.

This is useful for many users, but that makes PDF a far less useful intermediate filetype for locking and preserving PowerPoint formatting than it should otherwise be. In an ideal world, one would be able to turn off that feature and create a PowerPoint file where each individual slide is a static image— leaving zero opportunity for a missing font or any other weird issues to appear whatsoever.

  9. If a recipient of a requested signature rejects the document, then the canceled document is sent back to me on behalf of the sender. However, this leads to a positive result in our SPAM detection and the mail ends up in the SPAM folder. However, the actual sender of the mail is not the recipient but adobesign@adobesign.com.
Since there are more and more phishing mails on the way in these days, Adobe should not be detected as a false sender here as well.
Sending in the name of another person should be avoided.

  10. Currently the only way to SPECIFY a cropped page size in Acrobat is to use the clunky preflight tool. Why not simply allow the "Change Page Size" settings in "Set Page Boxes" dialog to result in a smaller page size (crop).

If you try this now, you get a "Page size may not be reduced." error. In the crop dialog. The place where you go to make the page smaller. The actual definition of cropping. Why not just let it crop to the size you type in, whether that's larger or smaller?

  11. When opening certain pdf files, the screen preview is not correct. The background "disappears". Sometimes though, the background will still print but sometimes it does not. I am on Mac in system Sierra and have tried these files on multiple computers including a pc, with extensions off etc. and always that same result. What I see is not what I get. If I place the pdf file in InDesign it will preview correctly and also export correctly so something InDesign does corrects the problem. I am attaching a file to demonstrate the issue.

  12. In the new version UI, when using Find (Ctrl+F) sometimes the search yields no results, and in consequence causes a popup saying that it didn't find the result, independently if the term I was looking for is in the documente. (please see attachment).

The before behaviour is not showing an popup when the search yielded no results.

This popup will interfere with the focus on the UI, and pressing Esc to get rid of the Find bar will only get rid of the popup, not the entire bar.
To remove the bar I need to press 2…

  13. Dear Adobe,

Unfortunately all Browsers send an error message to the user if he/she wants to open a dynamic XFA form file. You offer some solution in your help to configure local systems etc... That does not help organizers of events. The end user is often not capable or wants to follow these instructions nd refuses to use XFA based forms. Is there a perspective that there will be a solution for the browser to open these files like back in the days..?. The status quo is hurting the image of PDFs a bit...

  14. The editing features of Acrobat Pro DC is a main task of acquiring process of books for digitalization of image with borders (one raster images in every pages, by scanning processing). An AI features for automatically allignment (orizzontal or vertical), and the refine possibility to correct automatic allignment with edge-grips of images (feature present actually) but without the minimum of 2 degree and with capability of free rotation with steps of 0.5 degree (or 0.25 for values from 0 to 5 i.e.) showed in tooltips (as actually) can power significatively the editing features of Acrobat DC (Standard or…

  15. I am editing a PDF I have saved to Document Cloud. I realize the filename is no longer right, so I want to change it. I only know two ways

    1. open web browser, go to Document Cloud, and rename file
    2. save a new local copy of the PDF named "File B." Then upload File B to Document Cloud and remove File A from the document cloud. Then delete my local copy of File B.

I would just like to be able to change the filename on the fly (like in Google Docs) Thank you

  16. Case ADB-7492668-J6J4 -Word file is uploaded with embedded fonts as per Preferences (see attached) to the document cloud and then PDF converting Acrobat provides following error (see attached) "Acrobat PDF Conversion could not be completed. This could be due to a network error or if there is no valid Acrobat online service membership." If you go through the same process except NOT embedding fonts the same document will convert to PDF without error. However, the fonts in the PDF file are now different in the Word file as they are no longer embedded. When using a MS OS and upload…

  17. I first generated my pdf with automated bookmarks.
I then added a few pages and gave them bookmarks manually.

When I try to edit these different bookmarks at the same time by selecting them both and right clicking to get the properties window, the program pops up the error message "Adobe has stopped working."

The only way to edit these different bookmarks is by not selecting the different types at the same time.

    OS: Windows 8.1 Enterprise

Expected result: I would like the properties window to open when different bookmark types are selected.

    Observed result: The program throws…

  18. Hello

We are currently using the latest version of Adobe Reader but cannot find the line layer command. Also, when we open more than one PDF, switching between tabs becomes very bad. I request your help regarding this issue. The attached image belongs to the previous version. Kind regards

  19. I have Adobe Pro. It won't open multiple .pdf documents on different screens. I have 4 x monitors, run a business and need to open different documents, including different .pdf documents on different screens at the same time.

I contacted your help desk and spoke with Shr who advised that the Open Documents as New Tabs in Different Windows is no longer available in Adobe Pro, and if I disable New Acrobat, it disables the Open Documents as New Tabs in Different Windows feature in Adobe Pro. REALLY!!.

Try opening 4 x .pdf documents on one screen and copy and…

  20. Save advance search results in a pdf file to enable further treatment of the output.
Ex: I searched a certain value in lab test results files. When reviewing the results of the advanced search I wanted to output only those selected lines in a new file, which currently is not possible.
