  1. In order to disable the password encryption option within Adobe Acrobat Standard and Professional DC, the complete security suite under Protected Mode needs to be disabled. This means that Enterprises that don't want users to password encrypt PDF documents have to remove the built in Sandboxing solution for PDF documents, thus compromising their security controls.
There should be a granular capability to disable the option to password encrypt PDF documents, without having to turn-off other security features.

  2. I have Adobe Creative Cloud with Adobe DC et al. Up to today I have easily & successfully clicked the 'Convert current web page to an Adobe PDF file' icon in my browser tool bar.

Today, it does nothing & doesn't generate the PDF.

No updates have been done to my machine, system or OS or browser.

When I try to launch Adobe DC & try the same function via File>Create>PDF from Webpage it generates a PDF with the title on the top line & the URL at the bottom line & an empty file. So, in other words, useless.

  3. If I update a PDF (Export from InDesign) on the server or the desktop, I use View After Exporting, and despite closing the PDF between updates Acrobat always and only shows the previous PDF - until I quit Acrobat. So I'm quitting and reopening Acrobat 20 or more times a day which is REALLY annoying. Only started happening with version 17.012.20095 on a Mac Pro running CS2015 onwards.

  5. I use Adobe Acrobat through my entire Engineering Consulting Business (Bowden engineering Solutions Pty ltd), but I have a bug with Acrobat DC Pro. I am running it on a laptop that has on Windows 10 and a second monitor that is connected with HDMI and positioned above the laptop monitor. The laptop monitor is still selected as the "main display". The bug occurs about 50% of the time when I open an Acrobat file. The Acrobat window maximises on the second monitor and there is a blank portion along the top of the Acrobat window that covers the menus,…

  6. While opening a pdf that was scanned in the wrong direction, an algorithm would detect which side was up and automatically rotate the document so you wouldn’t have to click rotate manually. This would be a big time saver.

We have a feature request logged for this. We will update you once Engineering team will prioritize it and fix it.
    Thanks.

  7. I have a 27" monitor and when I enlarge Acrobat to fill the screen, the comments are cut off at the bottom. This happens with all documents. It's like the comment window has a maximum height built into it. It needs to expand all the way.

  8. The Adobe Sign app is currently only available on Android and iOS platforms. Can you release a Windows version please, so that the "sign in person" functionality in the app can be used by those with Windows-based mobile devices?

  9. Acrobat DC's Save As dialogue is horrible. Why does this product need to differentiate from a typical Save As--even from the rest of Adobe's products? I want to immediately be able to choose Desktop or Documents or whatever, and not have to click an additional "Choose a Different Folder..." button, just because my save location does not appear in the recent short list.

  10. I have Windows 10 and Adobe Standard v. 2018.011.20038 and when I create a form and click on "Prepare Form" there is a pop up box that says "Adobe Acrobat has stopped working" and then the program shuts down. I have updated the program, clicked on "Repair Installation" and nothing has corrected this issue. Please help!

    Thanks for reporting your concern.
We already have a feature request for this. The engineering team will work on this issue once prioritized.
We will inform you once it is implemented.

    Thanks.

  12. I always have to open the comments bar to add text. Why not just have that T in the main bar or allow us to add that. Also, why is the icon for Comments bar the same as sticky note? Odd. so please give us ability to choose more icons for the main bar. Takes too much time opening different bars. That is not efficient at all. And make that comments icon different than the sticky note one. Strange.

  13. Having to manually mouse click the 'OK' button on the 'Acrobat has finished searching the document' dialog is cumbersome. Ditto for other Acrobat dialogs. Please activate the <ESC> key here to close the dialogs. It makes navigation much faster.

  14. During the correction process utilize a dictionary to look up words which contain most characters as determined by scan and in the same left to right order. Present these as choices to be picked rather than only allowing change via direct editing. Permit editing after a choice is made however because the choice might only be close.

So often I have seen "print" scanned as "primt" for instance. Since most text is words in a dictionary the correction process can offer alternative spellings with some high degree of probability that one of them is correct. This could also be used…

  15. Acrobat needs to be multithreaded. I have a top of the line machine with 32g of ram and an I7-6700k processor an m2 SSD, yet am unable to successfully run OCR on a 4000 page document without splitting it up into 250-500page chunks, which is cumbersome. Even then, acrobat will only use 12% of my resources.

  16. After an upgrade to latest version 18.11.20040.19174 of Adobe Acrobat Pro DC was installed yesterday on my machine (Windows 10 Pro, version 1709) - Acrobat crashes 90% of times when trying to open any PDF file (sometimes it opens given file correctly and after closing the application and trying to open it again - it silently crashes). There is one third-party add-in installed that I'm using which worked fine so far, but now Acrobat crashes.

I can provide you with a crash mini-dump if you want (68MB as ZIP)

  17. Using Adobe Acrobat XI Pro, Situation:
a watermark was added to a document, vertical distance set to " 2 Milimeters from Top" and document saved. Then re-open document, use "Tools > Pages > Watermark > Update...". The settings in dialog box are displayed as they were saved (e.g. Vertical Distance: 2 Milimeter from Top), however in the preview pane, the existing watermark shows at another position then in dialog (position is displayed at Inches instead of Milimeters). Watermark shifted somewhere to the middle of the page.
Workaround: change Vertical Distance setting to another unit (e.g. Centimeters), then change back to…

  18. Per support, it is not currently possible to mass edit the Title attribute of multiple PDFs simultaneously. It would be very helpful to be able to mass edit PDF meta data.

Example: A user has hundreds of PDFs. Many of them have a single space as the Title attribute. This is confusing for the user since it appears to them that no title is displayed when opening a PDF.

Using Action Wizard, you could select the folder with the PDFs and edit the title attribute for all the PDFs simultaneously.

Did you mean flip or rotate?

    To rotate:
Go to Organize Pages. Select the required pages. Click on one of the rotate icons on the above toolbar.
    OR
Right click on the Left bar. Select Page Thumbnails. Now Right click on any page thumbnail and select Rotate Pages.

    To flip:
Go to Edit PDF. Right click on the image that you want to flip and select Flip Horizontal or Flip Vertical.
Note: You would need to uncheck the Recognize text checkbox (present in the right hand pane) when you open Edit PDF for the first time.

Let us know if that helps.
