How to turn off automatic OCR when editing a scanned document?
I want turn off automatic OCR when I go to edit a scan. Really slowing my project down having to revert to image on every page when all I need to do is rotate pages on the old documents I'm working on.
28 votesWith the latest release, we have added a checkbox that will turn off the automatic OCR.
1. Open any scanned pdf.
2. Go to Edit PDF.
3. Wait for OCR to complete.
4. On the right hand pane, uncheck the “Recognize text” option. (Alternatively, if you see a button ‘Revert to Image’, click on it). This will turn off the auto-OCR feature. Now, Acrobat will not run OCR automatically. Acrobat remembers this setting so that you do not have to uncheck it again.
Let us know if this helps.

MUST NEEDED TWEAKS TO SAVE TIME
Too much time is wasted by doing the simple little things and I want to address the little things that make PDF editing a big time consumer.
1) When copy and pasting anything from images, Text and especially New Text Fields they should paste right on top of their duplicate by default location.
A) It's easier to locate them
B) Way too time consuming moving it back to the default location so then you can continue on and just keyboard arrow key them over and into place where you want
It wastes so much time especially when you have…23 votes -
Flatten transparency results into false handling of a smooth shade and damaged result
When flattening the attached PDF with Acrobat DC, the shade (which is covered by a vector object and therefore only visible as some kind of a frame), becomes visible.
This is clearly not the expected results and therefore a bug.1 vote -
Worst program provided by IT
We receive computers from our IT department with Acrobat DC pre-installed. It is the very first thing I remove because it a) takes up over 2GB of space and b) runs resource-consuming, useless background services. As a point of fact, uninstalling Acrobat leaves behind those useless services. Those services do nothing for the user but consume resources. Acrobat DC itself is bloated and a huge pain to view documents with. Adobe completely takes it users for granted and produces low quality software as a result.

Steps to reproduce: a few pdf was opened and all except one has been closed.
Result: there are many Acrobat app entries in the Windows taskbar instead of only one (for the last still opened pdf). See screenshot.31 votes -

new acrobat for mac very slow
Acrobat 2023.006.20380: Since upgrading to the 'new' look acrobat, it is much, much slower, to the point is is basically frozen. Any document over 10 MB is unusable. I often deal with image-rich documents >50 MB and these are impossible to navigate and edit, whereas in the previous version this was totally normal/easy. Please fix this or revert to the previous version until the new version actually is practical for users.
Thanks.(on MacOS Monterey 12.7.1).

OCR Scan showing odd artifacts, numbers clipping into one another, and spaces and/or dashes in the underlining.
We have to use Editable Text and Image for our national database to add our header on the top of pdf documents filed in our database.
Regardless of scanner used, OCR is not is not seeing the underlines as a solid line. It looks like a bunch of underscores. This results in the numbers above it to become distorted. Sometimes the amounts are not readable.
here are times the line comes through looking like this: _----------__
Are settings are 300 dpi, black and white document, OCR on / Editable Text and Images, front side. We…1 vote -
I want to add text over an image many times. Every time I do it, I need to resize the text box. Can't we get the boxes to fit the text?

Enable Copying Highlighted Text on Mac w/ Cmd+C
On a Mac in Default Mode, it should be possible to copy highlighted text by using the keyboard shortcut.
Now, all you can do is select the highlighted parts and right-click -> Copy Text. Why shouldn't it be possible to select the highlighted parts and press Cmd+C?
Doing the extra clicking work is very labor intensive when working with a lot of previously highlighted paragraphs.

Text Box should have Opaque option - Transparent is imposed by default which allows Background image to be visible in text box
Add a feature to the Add Text function in Adobe Acrobat Pro DC so that a user can choose Opaque for a text box and avoid a Background image being visible through the text box. Also, the user should be able to choose a solid color to appear behind the text in the text box. This feature is so basic that it should have been in the product from the start. Photoshop Elements has had it for a long time!

Check marks not appearing when opening coworker's PDF.
When I open my coworker's copy of a PDF with most of the 500+ comments checked as addressed, I don't see his check marks. I have Version 2019.019.010.20100. He has an earlier version. The commenting feature no longer makes collaboration easy. Is this a result of the update?

Export to Microsoft Word
Open a PDF document with Arabic content.
This PDF was generated from InDesign CC2017. Arabic fonts used is a good True Type and OpenType fonts. Macintosh 10.11.2 / Acrobat DC Build: 15.23.20056.213124
When exporting to MS Office format, we expect to have a decent conversion as we see with PDFs that has English content.
I opened resulted Word document in MS. Word on Windows, Text Edit on Mac, Apple Preview. The result varies, but generally Arabic text doesn't convert properly, most words scrambled and fragmented.

Bug Report: Organize does not show image
If I am working for several hours in acrobat dc, the organize feature will show only blank pages... no content. I have to close the program and restart it to view the images. It will work for about 20-30 minutes and then do the same thing. UGH.
1 voteHi
Sorry for such a delayed response on this and for the trouble you were going through.
I tried using the tool with several files and could not see the issue.
Can you please try upgrading your Acrobat to the latest version and see if that resolves the issue for you.If not, can you please share the file(s) where this happens.
This would help us in investigating the issue faster.Regards

Unbelievable how Adobe can render their software more and more miserable over decades and finally totally ruin it. This Acrobat Kindergarten Thing is utterly unusable. Not that this wasn't to be expected:
Acrobat DC SO HORRIBLE it's making me want to cry:
https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/acrobat-dc-so-horrible-it-s-making-me-want-to-cry/m-p/7112345The latest incarnation, in addition to the completely unusable user interface, is so unbearably slow that Adobe can just throw the whole mess in the trash and start completely over. This is the worst and lamest bloatware I have ever witnessed.

Add comments to PDFs in Microsoft Teams (or OneDrive or Dropbox)
Working in Microsoft Teams it is needed to be able to make comments in the same PDF-file (online) like we can do in Word and Excel-files, so the team can see each others comments, and add their comments in the same PDF (without having to download and upload, which will result in several PDFs, and will not be very efficient).
